rumor has it that Hicks to OSU,

Jeffcoat is 50/50 between Texas/OU. Will be at OU this weekend and will announce on January 31st.

Well, crap. Doesn't sound like we're going to find a more reliable source than this. Good luck to you, Mr. Hicks!

I can see Jeffcoat being 50/50.

Re: Hicks - when an OOS recruit takes this long, it usually is not good news for the school trying to lure him OOS.

Sounds like someone has been reading scout, b/c i saw on another board that their national guys both thought Hicks would end up at OSU and they both disagreed re Jeffcoat.

It would be awesome to get either of these guys, but I am stoked about the class we already have. I am good either way. You want to be a horn great, if not good luck to ya.

50/50 is about the dumbest ******* insider opinion to issue. I'm not directing that at the tread starter, but to whatever source that was. In fact any numerical value on this stuff is contrived.

Everywhere I have read (Orangebloods, etc...) sources close to JJ say JJ is a Texas lean and Mack's visit was very positive and lasted over 3 hours.
Hicks is a mystery though.

Previously, I believed that if you heard that our interest was picking up on Nelson, it was probably a bad sign for Hicks. Conversely, if you weren't hearing anything about Nelson, Hicks probably remained a good possibility. However, I haven't kept up lately so I am not sure that the relationship remains.

The only thing this class is light on, and will be a priority in 2010, is the OL. If this class finishes with one of Hicks/Jeffcoat and next year we get some difference makers on the OL, Texas will play for a crystal ball again in 3 years.

Okam was a last day pick up (or day before last cant remember) and he turned out pretty good. Christian Scott was a late pick up and jury is still out on him.

Nate Vasher was a late pickup and was a great Longhorn for four years.

Chris Simms switched his commitment late to Texas near signing day. Couple of pretty good players there.

I'm definitely hoping that we land both Hicks and Jeffcoat, but they are also an early indicator of Boom's recuiting abilities. It seems Will has invested a lot of time recruiting Hicks, so it will be interesting to see if we can land him.

"Mack is about 5 for 75 on top recruits in the month of January since 98. Don't hold your breath"

Care to back this up with facts? (Doubtful)
