I'd like it if we can preceed it with a nice late lunch somewhere in the ballyard vicinity. And preferably on a Saturday.

Who wants to take the point on this?

Sorry, ya'll. Been busy and haven't been participating on Rangers threads (or any thread, for that matter).

I'd be down, but it needs to be on a weekend for me to do it. Also, I'm limited in where I can sit (handicapped seats only), so if folks want to all sit together, I may be the proverbial fly in the ointment. I will do my best to make it, though, and meet up w/folks before or after, assuming it's not convenient for peeps to sit w/me. If I go, I may bring my Aggie buddy, if that's okay (and he can come that weekend).

Good to hear from you again - we've missed you lately on Hornfans.

If you're available to come, I bet we can get a block of seats that includes handicapped access. The sooner we zero in on a date, the better our chances. And we will have better chances if we avoid any of the "premium" games (Yankees and Red Sox).

For a Hornfans Zealots Day at The Ballpark, I bet the rest of us will all wear our Burnt Orange tee-shirts. We'll exempt you from that, if you'd like.

Okay, Ranger zealots! I went onto the Rangers website and copied all the available Saturday home games. Here are our choices:

14 May - Angels
28 May - Royals
25 June - Mets
2 July - Marlins
9 July - A's
23 July - Blue Jays
6 August - Indians
27 August - Angels
10 September - A's
24 September - Mariners

As folks respond with interest and availability, it will help to give your preferences for dates.

I'd like to go before it gets ridiculously hot, but the early games conflict with Longhorn games or potential games:

May 14 -- Texas Southern
May 28 -- Big 12 tournament
June 25 -- College World Series

However, if the group decides to go one of these dates, it's fine with me. I'll enjoy watching the Rangers with y'all and let the Horns fend for themselves.

In the fall, Sept. 10 is the BYU game, and I've tentative plans to go to Provo. However, Sept. 24 is an open date for the Horns.But I don' really want to wait until fall ...

Of the dates listed, I prefer the July games. I know it'll be scorching, but once football season starts, I will be persona non grata if OU is playing that day.

HHD, unlike you, I wear team appropriate garb for the event I'm attending.

Rangers game: Rangers garb.
Cowboys game: Cowboys garb.
Mavs game: Mavs garb.
Any UT event: OU garb.

OK, Ranger Zealots,
So far, Texanne cannot make 14 May, and I've seen a couple votes for summer/25 June. Let's see if we can get a consensus among the Zealots by middle of May - that should be plenty of lead time for me to go get a decent block of seats, including handicapped access.

As of now it looks like Texanne and hubby, OUE and friend, IPLonghorns, and me and Mrs. HHD. We need to see if we can roust some of the old-timers among the zealots - WorsterMan, HID, 69, and others.

I'm off to take Mrs. HHD on a cruise later this week, but I'll check responses as soon as we return.

Hey gang! Sorry I have been AWOL from HF lately... not due to a lack of interest in the Rangers as I have been passionately following them with their glistening 9-2 record.

I am game to join the zealots... I vote for Sat. June 25th.

Calling all Ranger Zealots!

I'm back from our Caribbean Cruise, and managed to survive with a weight gain of only one pound!

Now let's see how big a contingent we can scare up for HornFans Zealots Day at The Ballpark. So far it looks like 25 June is the leading candidate - that's an interleague game against the Mets. It's the Fox feature game that Saturday, and it'a a 3:05 P.M. first pitch. Texanne has suggested that we make it a big day and meet for a nice group lunch somewhere near The Ballpark; I assume that would mean something like a 1:00 lunch followed by the game.

Let's set Friday, 20 May, as the deadline for commitments. Please respond, and let us know the number of tickets you'll need. I'll head out to The Ballpark that weekend and purchase a block of tickets. We'll include a block with handicapped access so OUE can join the group. Anyone else with other special needs should so note in responding.

Please make your other HornFans Ranger fans aware of this - the more, the merrier!

Hey fellow Zealots, sorry that I too have been AWOL. Been working a lot in Europe but have been following R's on my new Slingbox. Just saw David Murphy picked off.

At any rate I'm sorry that I will not be able to make the June 25 outing but will be there in Spirit. Thank you so much for thinking of me and I'll be rooting you guys on!

I am there on the 25th... I may bring my two teenage sons to further soak in Ranger greatness and meet some fellow Zealots that happen to be huge UT fans... of course with the exception of OUE. I hope you can make it OUE. I am disappointed that Horn69 will not be able to join us - maybe we can all yell "GO SLIPPERY ROCK" and hoist blue dirty martinis at the beginning of the 7th in his honor : ).

Don't worry OUE, my sons will extend full respect for your love of the Rangers and even with some flexibility toward your disgusting infidelity toward all things sooner.

My question to my fellow Zealots,,, is do I wear my burnt orange cap or Ranger cap?

My dear Shadowdancer will not be able to join us, as he works Saturdays. I am trying to convince my best buddy to come along, as he loves the Rangers and the Horns, and -- just for you, OUE -- started his education in Oklahoma.
