Hermain Cain has taken the lead in Republican presidential race according to the most recent Zogby poll.

According to a new Fox News poll, it looks like Cain is now in the top tier of candidates. Romney has retaken the lead, Perry has fallen back to second, down 10 points from a month ago and Hermain Cain has rapidly risen up to 3rd place.

This poll has to be taken more seriously. And with four months to go until the first primary, Herman Cain appears to be gaining some real traction here.

I'd be very happy with Cain(or Paul) atop the GOP ticket. If nothing else, the longer Cain stays the stronger his message gets and hopefully that rubs off on the others.

If Cain adopts more of Ron Paul's ideas, I think he will probably win the GOP nomination. If he sticks to the same old foreign and financial policy that we have become accustomed to, then that will be sad.

Im still voting for Ron Paul, but if the masses vote for Cain, right now that "looks" better than anyone other than Paul.

I'm glad to see a relative unknown like Herman Cain get a chance. I need to brush up more on his proposals, but his 9-9-9 tax plan sounds pretty interesting. And unlike our current POTUS, Cain at least knows what a private-sector profit-and-loss statement looks like. Also (at age 65), he is not going to become a lifelong entrenched Washington politician.

One article that I read, however, indicated Herman can have a bit of a temper on certain issues. When he gets mad, is it fair to say that he's raising Cain?

I'd just be excited to see Cain v. Obama in a debate. Since I put down my conservative roots, I've had to shudder through debates with Bush and McCain.

Zogby is out with a new poll showing Herman Cain up 20 points over Mitt Romney and the rest of the Republican field, and up 2 points over Barry O. in the general election.Keep in mind that Zogby tends to be one of the most unreliable of the pollsters, so it is probably best to wait for some other corroborating numbers before popping the champagne corks or whatever.

Still, this is all part of a very positive trend for Herman Cain.
