Here's Why I am Hopeful about Bone and Hill

Like everyone I am just speculating about what might happen with Bone and Hill, but I am hopeful for a couple of reasons. First, only a handful of schools remain in the running for either player...and Texas is the only program still being considered by both. Not only does that increase the odds of landing at least one, it should also improve our chances of signing both. There are many things an athlete takes into account when choosing a program, including who else is in the class. I found the following quote on fullcourt.scout.com interesting:

I certainly hope we get both; really tough to read at the moment.

With Cortijo and Williams giving up their last year, we will have a roster of 9 players, including Reed and Flores. So, getting both Bone and Hill would get us to a good roster size.

If we get neither, not sure who else we're still recruiting for 2009.

I just wish they would decide so the schools they do not select can pursue other players. I think by now they have had plenty of time to decide.

i hadn't really thought about the roster size but it's a good observation. as far as others we might go after, i don't think there are many left. a school like texas isn't going to sign just anyone, and bone and hill are the only uncommitted top 30 recruits remaining; the fact we're the only program on the short list for both says a lot. i think there are just five in the top 100 who haven't signed and i have no idea if any are good fits or even available...i kind of doubt it, though. i agree with moooo that the situation with bone and hill is tough to read, but clearly both like texas...we're one of just two programs remaining on bone's list. my thinking is being part of a class with three top 12 recruits might be a factor in pushing them towards the horns, assuming everything else is equal and they remain undecided at this point. i honestly believe a class with bone, reed and hill, along with those we already have on board, could be a championship caliber team within a year or two.

Isn't the fact that Williams & Cortijo are not coming back a good sign that the coaching staff thinks we'll sign Bone & Hill? If we knew they were leaning to another school it would seem to me we'd be trying to get at least one of our redshirts to come back for a fifth year.

Something tells me that these two ladies will get considerable playing time no matter where they go.

Maybe we need for Reed to strong-arm them at the McDonald's game and force them to sign with Texas. Come on Cokie, explain to Bone and Hill that there is only ONE school where they could possibly be happy playing their college ball.

Adams is a JCCC WBCA AA finalist this season after being named to the first team last season. She's listed as 6-2 and is the leading scorer for #1 ranked Jefferson County who is 31-0 heading into NJCAA National Tournament. Wonder if we will offer regardless of what happens with Hill and Bone.

Maybe I missed it, but where was it noted that we are recruiting Adams? Is there a link?

Regarldess, she signed with Mizzou out of high school, but went the JUCO route. Looks like she was recently named JUCO POY . . .

The Link

We sure could used some help/depth at Power Forward, and in the frontcourt in general for 2009-10 . . .

the article doesn't mention texas among the schools that have offered adams, nor does txex86 say that she is interested in the horns....just that we may be looking at her. i am certain the focus is on bone and hill right now and i don't know how adams would fit into the equation if we land these two players.

Is the staff allowed to communicate with Bone and Hill at this point? I am not sure that the rules are surrounding quiet periods at this time of year.
