Herd of Longhorns headed to Beijing

There is no doubt TEXAS recruits world class athletes, but that is not always the best thing for TEXAS.

Women's Track, for example...Had Richards, Hooker, etc stayed with TEXAS....UT would definitely have a few more National Championships. Sometimes I wonder if we had recruited great athletes, but not world class athletes, if that would benefit UT in the long run. TEXAS went from National Champion to 14th place or something ridiculous like that.....from being the top of the Big 12 to the 4th best in the Big 12.

I have mixed feelings about the world class athletes. I want them to go to TEXAS, but to stay longer than a year or two....I don't even know why we bothered with Bianca Knight.....she was at TEXAS for ONE SEMESTER!!!!!! That just seems wrong to me.

Good Luck to all Longhorns in Beijing!!!

I think that having had those world class athletes even on campus as well as having Texas mentioned as their school or affiliation helps in recruiting the great athletes you refer to. The ones not exactly world class but title winning potential. It pays off dividends in the future.
