HELP! WIN ME BSOD ERROR 06:0200:0000082E

I rebooted my Win ME

machine last nite and now I get the Blue Screen Of Death

with the message ERROR 06:0200:0000082E about 3 times and then nothing but my walllpaper.

Has anybody experienced this and what should I do about it?

Yeah Yeah I know, get an Apple....get linux

Win ME is an abortion. I would replace the OS as soon as possible. You'd be better off with 98, if you don't want to go to XP.

I remember seeing that kb891711 running along with one other thing when I CAD after the BSOD. That must be it.

Reboot into safe mode and go to control panel, add or remove programs, and uninstall it that way.

Oh, and don't bother re-installing the updated version. It has also screwed up my computer.

Win ME must be the worst OS ever

I had that on my system at one point and it ran great. people told me it was **** and I was like..whatever

then all of a sudden it killed itself. What a mess that was

I nuked it and everything is now ok. I must have got zapped by the Win auto update.

It in reality it was the "gay porn theory' but Mr. Phlegm gagged, and then coughed it up....

I also went and turned the automatic update off in my windows update and set it to manual.

What I figure happened is this update is NOT for Win Me but the Microsoft morons didn't set the attributes correctly and the auto update picked it up and installed it. Next time I booted (which I have to do a lot as it appears the ME's memory management sucks rotted donkey balls) WHAM! it got ME.
