HELP!!! Dead Mice and my dogs!

I had a **** load of mice in my garage (wife put dog food in there and left the garage open.) I poisoned them and kept the dogs out of the garage. The mice seem to have gone to the back yard to die. I picked up 8 dead mice in my back yard today. My concern is what happens if my dogs were playing/chewing on mice that were poisoned? Are they at risk of poisoning or would the mice have metabolized (sp?) the poison. Any advice is appreciated!

I would say, yes, if they ate a mouse that had eaten the poison, they could be poisoned as well. Is it an option to keep the pets inside until the threat is over?

The threat is over now. I just noticed all of those dead ******** today as I was mowing.

I have found poisoned mice in my yard and the dogs didn't seem to bother them. And they kill any mice they can get hold of.
