Help! - Computers....

A little info:

I bought a new PC back in October. I had a free trial of Norton Anitvirus. It expired about a week ago.

Starting yesterday, whe I open my browser(IE), all these pop-ups start coming up like crazy.....9 or 10 in a matter of seconds. Now, even if I don't have IE open, it starts happening again. Also, I have stuff that I didn't ever want starting up when my pc is turned on. I look at the PC processes, and there's tons of **** running that I'm not using. All this is making my PC unstable, and it has locked up a couple of times as well.

What's going on? Any ideas how to stop this?

Sounds like spyware. Run these, and then download Firefox and quit using IE.

You also may want to get this program to replace your Norton. No need to pay for an anti-virus program when something comparable if not better is available for free.

norton internet security (if u had that too) comes with a built in pop up blocker + ad remover.
