Help! 70's or 80's animated movie title...

First of all, it's not Heavy Metal. The memory I have of the movie was evoked by watching tonight's South Park homage to Heavy Metal.

Anyway, it was a late 70's or early 80's animated movie. It was R-rated. All I remember is that I was traumatized by it as a very young child. It had some war scenes and I'm pretty sure it had some sex scenes. I fuzzily recall some sort of fairy. It was sci-fiesque in that I think the war was between fairies, elves, etc. and ogres, monsters, etc..

Anyone remember this?

Yes, it sounds like Ralph Bakshi's Wizards. It used to be a regular midnight show at Dobie. Pretty good movie from what I remember. I don't know why it isn't on late night cable tv.

From the clips on YouTube, I do believe it was Wizards. I wasn't doing acid at the time, I was only about 4 -- but I was scarred for life. All I'd ever seen up to that point was scooby doo, etal... Suddenly, cartoon characters were getting slain and having sex.
