Heisman is a beauty contest. It stopped being best player in college a long time ago.

One of the reasons I love Hornfans is the astute commentary always in plentiful supply here. ;)
I've said it before and I'll say it again:
The members of the coaching staff have no idea the wealth of knowledge available here on Hornfans. Player evaluation, player development, play calling, depth chart, and a myriad of other topics are to be had here.

It may be nigh on impossible for Ewers to fight his way back into starting. Manning is just going to get better and better, and his physical tools are way better than those of Ewers. Ewers has experience going for him, but give Manning a few games, and he may just be an unstoppable juggernaut. Manning will be the number one pick when he comes out, and will be seen as a superstar.

HDU, no question Manning is going to be special but right now Ewers is the better of the two and can carry us further when the road gets tough than can Manning. That’s just the facts. Now will manning exceed Ewers in his development, quite possibly because of his legs but go back and watch what Ewers did in this game while in. Some remarkable throws while under some duress. Nevertheless I am still concerned about how our D will do against a good offense - Michigan was not a good test, Ga and Ky will be a better test than we’ve had thus far. Not sure about OU just yet, will know next week.

All in all, I have decided that I am OK with this. I'm old enough that I don't need Sark calling me at 2:00 in the morning to help him with a new route combination to deploy against cover 2 defenses (among many other things). I like my sleep!

That isn’t “the facts”. That is an opinion. If Ewers is out only say one game, then I agree Ewers will step back in. If he is out three maybe four then Manning may well be locked in. Manning is far more explosive. In my opinion. And if he settles in he may well stay as starter.

Ewers is the starting QB. Everyone with a say knows that including Arch and his entire family. All of the above accept that.

The biggest problem that Sark has will be if Quinn doesn't heal as fast as anticipated, does Sark let a "rusty" Quinn start against OU. Let's hope Quinn is able to start (or at least play a bunch) against Mississippi Cow College.

Dion, give Sark a complimentary Sponsorship and watch as this Texas team explodes to new heights (or falls into the dumpster).

Viper,

As the father of a player, I don't know how advisable it is to have him as a poster. I loved his comment in the press conference about seeing #32 out on the field, so he took his headset off and became a father cheering for his son rather than a coach listening to other coaches criticizing what he did wrong. The fatherly pride Sark showed talking about his son getting credit for "half a tackle" shows a different side of the guy. He's a keeper, and someone needs to Ride Fence to keep the Niners and Seattle out of Travis County.
