Flying into Chicago later today. First time in Chicago and I will stay in Evanston for a couple nights then downtown for 4 more nights. I am already going to Lolla and a couple of cubs games against the stros. Any other spots I should hit up or general advice/tips?

There were some good posts about Chicago on here within the last two months.. Check the on the road history..should help

great atmosphere, bar and tapas: Cafe Iberico
NICE dinner: David Burke Prime
drinks/view: The bar at the top of the hancock tower.
Eat pizza
Go to the Chicago Art Institute.
Go to the aquarium

*** ask around to find the select bars that stay open and serve alcohol until 4 a.m.

if you hit a cubs game, head to Aqui mi Tierra half a block W of the 'EL' on Belmont(3200 N). Get some ritas and homemade guacamole/salsa/chips.( and maybe some enchiladas suizas)

It was some really good mexican food after being in the frozen tundra of Chicago for a couple months before I found that place. (it has quadrupled in size from 10+ years ago too)

If you are a beer freak go to the Hopleaf. It's on Clark just a bit north of Wrigley Field. Another great beer bar is the Map Room. It's on Hoyne. I stayed near Linclon Park and just rode the bus and El to these places (plus downtown). These places have all the good local craft beer plus the best beers from around the world. Geno's East is where I went for pizza....totally awesome....oh my God. There's great Mexican food at Frontera Grill (chef Rick Bayless' place). It's on Clark St but much closer to downtown.

Just back from a long weekend in the Windy City.

If you're even halfway athletic, try kayaking down the Chicago River. Good fun, especially this time of year.

Kayak Chicago
