Anyone use one for local channels and such? Any suggestions/tips/caveats? I found this one that seems to be reasonably priced and has some decent customer feedback?

Any ideas?

I have that one (a Silver Sensor) and it works pretty good. You're in North Dallas, right? antennaweb.org says that should work for you.

The digital broadcasts are actually on UHF channels that are remapped to channels 4-1, 5-1, 11-1, etc., by your ATSC tuner.

Agreed, although some channels are actually on the VHF band. I don't know about Austin or Dallas, but the PBS station in San Antonio was that way.

If you're looking for a small, rabbit-ears type- then the The Zenith Silver Sensor can't be beat. Works great in the Dallas M-Streets- pulling in almost all the channels- except UPN 21 and the channel w/ Rangers baseball- which won't come in at all. I had to put a larger $20 RadioShack UHF antenna in the attic- which will pick up 21. Still can't tune into the Rangers tho.
