HD question

I'm new to HDTV, so forgive me if this is a dumb question.
Is there something that would cause just one channel to not work?
I am in the Fort Worth area, and for the past few days, local channel 4 (FOX) is just a grey screen on the HDTV - works fine on my other TV's though.
I can get the high def channel 4, but not the regular channel.
Any ideas?

Make sure that the output resolution on the receiver is allowed on your TV... for example, if the blue light on the front of the receiver lights up under 1080i, but your TV is at best 720i, then the video will not show up...

is there sound? or the whole signal is gone?

Do you get the standard version (non-HD) version of the channel? Directv doesn't carry HD channels here in Corpus, so I don't know how they come.

Whoa Dr. the local channels do not come in off a small antenna on your smaller receivers. If that were the case then no one outside of any metro area would be able to get a signal. This sounds like a problem with your satellite. You need to call Directv and let them know so they can try to fix it. Do not go buy an antenna or anything like that...try to reset your directv box first...if that doesnt work then call directv and they will guide you from there. Also try what dang str8 said although I dont think any of your channels would show up if you had it on the wrong setting not just one. One more thing...its not 720i.....theres no such thing....its 720p.

Thanks for the responses.
On the HD set, I get the HD version of the local channel, but not the regular Channel 4.
I get no sound and no picture.
However, on my non-HD sets (also on DIRECTV) - I get the regular channel.
It sucks because non-HD programming on the HD channel sucks, but at least on the regular channel the picture is much better.
I will try to reset the receiver.
