That walk off HR by Hawaii to beat Bama in softball was epic. The dumb-face on all those Bama fans made me smile.

but seriously, Coach Murphy has to be rethinking his decision to not pitch our best pitcher in game 2 of the double header on Saturday.

any truth to the rumor of Texas looking at Pat Murphy as the new softball coach (hearing it on Bama boards)

That HR was a thing of beauty. Losthubby had been watching Dunne throw high and inside all day, and mentioned that Rodriguez had been making contact all day. Interesting stance too. Hard to watch 'Bama lose here though since close friends played softball and soccer there. But...

The super-regionals have been fun to watch. Mizzou and Hawaii are my two favorites right now, although I don't think either will go the distance. They have made watching the game fun.

Random thoughts:

Interesting that Walton (Fl 4th yr), Earlywhine (Mizzou 3rd yr), Tarr (U Dub 6th year) have only been at their respective schools a short time, but have all managed at least 2 trips to the WCWS. Fla to the finals and U Dub winning it all last year.

Oregon's coach is in his first year and gets them to Supers. They will be fun to watch in the future.

Mizzou lost their stud pitcher earlier in the year and Nottleman really stepped it up.

Props to Tenn for making it back without Monica Abbott.

Hawaii has slowly been creeping up over the last 3-4 years, making noise - props to Bob Coolen for building a team in a place that seems an easy recruit, but likely is not. They have been on the road since May 10!

WCWS will be fun to watch for sure!

Clark has next year with Luna to show that she can get Texas back where it belongs. Winning the Big XII this year was a good start but if the Horns fall apart next year it wouldnt shock me if we saw a change and then with the Texas pursetrings it will be open season.

As good as Luna is, I don't think she will be able to hold off Rachel Fox for long. Look for Fox to get a lot of time in the circle next year.

Ain't no way that we (or anyone else for that matter) are getting Murphy. Bama has him there for as long as they want him.

In any case - as awesome as Bama is with hitting, he hasn't been able to put together the pitching to win. His pitchers always strike me as very nice girls, who are just not quite mean enough to win.

Heather Tarr at Washington is awesome, and gives me hope for the future of young female coaches. Admittedly, having Lawrie makes any coach look good, but I've been very impressed with how she's rebuilt that program.

But #7 seed, and winning conference - I'm very happy for Connie, even though the ending was not good. Not sure there's a new coach on the horizon for Texas. The program (from a distance) doesn't look anything like it did before. She just needs (strangely enough for her) pitching.

Obviously an outstanding coach, Tarr did not impress me last night in UWs loss to GA. UW had a 3-1 lead but when GA had 2 on and no outs, Tarr never went out to settle her team.

Maybe with Lawrie you don't do that, I don't know. But it was obvious UW was on the ropes and needed a pep talk, not Lawrie necessarily, but the infield. Plus you break the momentum.

I can't stand GA. Their 3rd base coach is much too emotional. Runs home to join in the celebration of a home run or key play. When they beat us a McCombs, he appeared to be laughing at us. He sucks, big time.
