Anyone gone thru this?
In a matter of a week, I had both the Discover and Visa fraud departments call me to say they had flagged applications that had been filed in my name- I don't have a credit card from either company.
I was told to call the three primary credit companies as well as file a police report. The kicker, I live in Austin and the 'mail to' address of these credit cards was to another Austin address. I begged for said address (perhaps go pay a visit) but was told for legal reasons they couldn't give it to me.
Anything else you would recommend I do? Quite a helpless feeling.
And for those who don't know, I was told by APD that all these criminals need are a SS#, birthday and address.
