Poll: Voters blame GOP more for Washington’s political fighting
By Meghashyam Mali - 09/15/11 06:47 AM ET

More Americans blame Republicans for the political fighting in Washington, a new Bloomberg National Poll finds. Forty-five percent of those surveyed said they blame Republicans in Congress for "what's gone wrong in Washington." Twenty percent blamed President Obama and 19 percent blamed congressional Democrats in the poll released Thursday.

Senator McConnell spelled out the number one priority of the GOP 30 minutes after President Obama was sworn in. Everybody knows that.

The GOP is at a low point, what with having been taken over by anti-evolution religious dimwits. The GOP used to be the party of common fiscal sense and accountability. Now they are little better than a mirror image of the Democrat party.

It's the above that is undoing the GOP. Their hatred of Obama is but a symptom of the underlying problem.

^^^ Same could be said of the DNC.

Anyway to the OP, I think hatred actually helps bring out the base vote. It worked for the Dems and I suspect it will work for the Pubs as well. The key is that the hate has to come from the base not the candidates themselves. However, the candidates need to use speeches that attract the base - things like hope, change, etc.

Well, the op was talking about the GOP, which I took to be the constituents of the party, not just the RNC. But I have already acknowledged that point by mentioning the "mirror image".

If you use Google, you can find a poll to "prove" just about any point you'd like to make. Since the OP cited a Bloomberg poll, I'll counter with another Bloomberg Poll - The Link. Here's an interesting excerpt from that link -

"By a 44 percent to 34 percent margin, Americans say they believe they are worse off than when President Barack Obama took office in early 2009, when the U.S. was in the depths of a recession compounded by the September 2008 financial crisis and the economy was losing as many as 820,000 jobs a month.

The gloom covers the immediate future, with fewer than 1 in 10 people expecting unemployment to return to pre-recession levels within the next two years, and it extends to the next generation. More than half of respondents say their children are destined to have a lower standard of living than they do, upending a traditional touchstone of the American Dream. "

Want to cite another poll? I believe the poll that really matters is the one the American electorate will hold next November.

Garrett Gilbert was a great high school quarterback and a fine young man. That said, his leadership was not right for our football team. I did not want him to continue as leader of the team. I did not and do not "hate" him. He simply did not possess the skills to lead our team.

BHO is not hated as a person as much as his skills are not right for the country and world.

Fair enough. I will say though that 2010 has showed us that Barack Obama has been a benefactor for Republicans and specifically the Tea Party thus far. Jimmy Carter was the same kind of gift back in 1980. That lead to a 49-state win in 1984. I'll take that kind of "undoing".

The Bloomberg poll seems to suggest that Americans are seeing the GOP for what it really is. If you can get 49 states out of that....

So is he being threatened by Republicans, Independents, or Dems? Is it broken down by race? I didn't see a link on that last statement. Oh my bad, it is a Satchel thread. How foolish of me.

Keep up or go into read only:

Since Mr Obama took office, the rate of threats against the president has increased 400 per cent from the 3,000 a year or so under President George W. Bush, according to Ronald Kessler, author of In the President's Secret Service.

Some threats to Mr Obama, whose Secret Service codename is Renegade, have been publicized, including an alleged plot by white supremacists in Tennessee late last year to rob a gun store, shoot 88 black people, decapitate another 14 and then assassinate the first black president in American history.

Most however, are kept under wraps because the Secret Service fears that revealing details of them would only increase the number of copycat attempts. Although most threats are not credible, each one has to be investigated meticulously. It seems that things are getting scarier every day. Perhaps that is why his national security team is changing.

The anti-Obama rants are funny.

Just how bad did GWB/GOP have to screw up to get a black man with a muslim sounding name elected president? Think about it. McCain choosing that idiot Palin certainly didn't help matters any.
