Hatch Chile Festival PSA

Sunset Valley Farmer's Market is having their Hatch Chile Festival this Saturday, Aug. 25th.
Craig Barton from Austin Spice Co. will be roasting fresh Hatch chiles for sale. I'm getting 30 farking pounds.

Picked 'em up in a cooler. They steam enough after roasting so that the peel comes right off.

There were some beauties in there.

Bagged up and ready for freezing.

They were $22 a case of fire roasted Hatch chiles in mild or hot @ Central Market or $2.49 lb. I'm not sure what the cases weighed but they were by far the better value. I cleaned, vacuum packed and put up 2 cases in my freezer. The mild were very mild and the some of the hot were as hot as any that I sampled in Hatch last year.
