Has South Park jumped the shark?

I've watched every episode since season 1. Some of the writing has been absolutely brilliant, as late as last year with the episode right after the election that parodied Ocean's 11. But this year has been really subpar. Of the 4 episodes, Margaritaville was OK, but the other 3 were lame. Have they reached their expiration date after 13 seasons?

As long as there is a dumbass society, South Park will be ok. A few bad episodes over 13 seasons isn't a bad ratio.

I think the phrase "jumped the shark" has "jumped the shark."

SP is still gold. Excellent writing that relates to the current events in real time. Good stuff.

Hopefully just a slump, but this season has been mediocre. They seem to be trying too hard to fit national metaphors into storylines, not as much letting the characters be themselves.

No. I think the show has improved over time.

This season has been better than average so far. The Coon and The Ring were brilliant imo. Margaritaville was good. I haven't watched Eat, Pray Queef yet.

Stupid question: By saying "jump the shark" does this imply that the shows best days are behind it using the infamous Fonzie jumps the shark tank episode that signalled the demise of Happy Days?

If not, just what the hell does it mean?

personally I think South Park is still greatness but having said that the "Queef" episode was not their best work.

pretty good episode this week, although it might be because i hate carlos mencia. 'i just take jokes and repackage them with a mexican accent'
