Harvesting Vegetables

My garden is producing all kinds of stuff, esp tomatoes and peppers. Ive never gardened before.

When do you harvest those suckers? If I take a bunch of jalapenos off the plants will it make more or is it once per season.

Do I wait until the tomatoes are red or what? One of my roma tomatoes fell off but it's green.

I really am clueless about this.

I took a bunch of jalapenos off and froze them.

Tomatoes are ready when they're red, even when they're not quite red. I've never eaten green tomaotes, but apparently you can. Just pull off a pepper or peppers whenever you want, it'll make more. You can leave the jalapenos on the plant until they turn red if you want though.

Both jalapenos and tomatoes will make until the plant wears out or it freezes.

If you have green tomatoes fall off the vine, just set them in the window, they'll ripen eventually.
If you very lightly "thump" your tomato blossoms, it will increase the pollination rate.
If they fall off, you're thumping too hard.

great tanks

Onions grow like weeds I take chives almsot every day adn they keep growing.

cilantro too.

oh and fertilizing makes a huge difference

If you have an over abundance of tomatos, you can just wash them and freeze them whole, as long as you use them like stewed tomatos when you thaw them out.
