Harry Reid RIP

I disagreed with Harry on just about everything political, but I will always be grateful to him for eliminating the filibuster for Federal court appointments. Republicans would certainly not have had the gonads to make a rule change of this magnitude. Without Reid's courageous rule change, the Dems would have leveraged more centrist SCOTUS appointments from Trump (and likely would have blocked the 3rd appointment).

Thank you Senator Reid! I will be forever grateful. RIP.

Reid was a guy who completely sold out his principles for partisan power and gain. He was actually a pretty moderate consensus builder before he was in the leadership, and he pissed it all away. He's not the only one to do it, but he was among the worst and most flagrant. As much as I don't like Chuck Schumer and didn't like Tom Daschle or George Mitchell, all three are better human beings.

Another turd self flushes, leaving nothing but a stain on the bowl that will wash away in time too. No loss.

Remember, while Democrat leader in the Senate, he suffered an injury that resulted in loss of one eye and looked exactly like someone had punched and crushed his eye socket in.

The claimed reason was that he fell off a treadmill, and the vaunted DC press core, who claim they always run to a story and the DEMOCRAY DIES IN DARKNESS!!!! said, OK, that's what happened, no need to look further.

A lot of truth to this, but the mindset that "they all suck" disregards the reality that some truly are worse than others.
Valid point and I tend to agree, however I would continue with the fact if you put a plate of dog sh*t, a plate of cat sh*t, one of horse, another of cow, etc. in front of me, I’m sure some would smell better than others but I’m not sticking my fork in any of it.

An admittedly juvenile comment but it effectively illustrates how I feel about politicians in general…

Fair enough, but always remember that we, the people, choose the plates of **** and reward shittiness in general. (That's why they act like ****.) We don't have to do either.

It's easier to make a voter vote against your opponent than for you which means you can do whatever you want to gain power and never be held accountable by your own constituents/voters. In fact, now power plays are rewarded by the extremes of the parties. The inverse of a politician (the opponent) is always worse. At least, that's the current stump speech at any point in the past 20+ years.
