.. passed away today in the pressbox in D.C.

Distinctive style, distinctive voice ... I remember him as the third guy in the booth with Gene Elston and Lowell Passe on the Houston Colt .45s radio network.

Sad day ...

One of the most recognizable voices in sports broadcasting. His NFL films work was greatness. My father worked many Phillies games with him. His "Outta Here" home run calls were a my all time favorite.
