HARRIS POLL OUT

USC at 7.

Mark May manages to keep USC in the top 10 as usual.

So Michigan loses to Appalachian State and drops out.

USC loses to a horrible Oregon State and drops a handful of spots in the media polls.

The argument (for lack of a better word) should not be that the PAC 10 doesn't have a Championship game. The fault lies in the fact that the Big 12 continues to play one in spite of all the fact that it can usually only hurt the Conference rather than help it, all for the sake of a little extra money.

B12 wouldn't need one if the format changed to play all the 11 other teams and one non-conf game each season. But in this conference that could be difficult for anyone to go undefeated.

Seriously, USC at 7 is ******* outrageous.

I can't imagine that in the history of the polls that a team could have only two wins, a loss to an unranked team (which itself already has multiple losses), and yet they're ranked #7.

What ********.

****, I'd put USC's odds of playing for a MNC at 50% right now. Teams in the Big 12 or SEC will pile up a lot more quality wins, but if they drop one game... even, say, a road game to another top-5 club, USC is poised to jump them.

I've been pretty much neutral on USC during their recent run off success, but **** like this makes it hard not to root against them week in and week out.
