Can someone tell me about this place. They sure do have a lot of D-1 prospects. Were all the guys placed there by colleges for a year or two to make grades?
They've been doing this for years...usually place 25 to 35 post grad players in D-1 programs. Normally, these are students with marginal academics in HS...they work math and english hard to help them to improve.
Do I think college recruiters "suggest" to certain players that they try Hargrave: absolutely. Do I sometimes wonder who pays the bills: you bet.
Hargrave's tuition for a PG year is $29.5K per thier web site. Times 50 players, that is some serious coin.
Very few PG schools have that kind of money, and I am fairly certain Hargrave does not. As I said before, that begs the question: Where does the money come from?
My guess is that much of the money comes from someone other than mom and dad. Who that may be is anybody's guess.
