On this date in 1836, the Texas Army fought and defeated Santa Anna at San Jacinto in the final battle of the Texas Revolution to gain our independence from Mexico.
Since I work for the great state of Texas and this is a state holiday, I am enjoying this important date in Texas history from the comfort of my own home.
