Happy Birthday Tony Dorsett

I met him in the clubhouse at a celebrity golf tournament years ago and he was a great guy. We talked for a while about our mutual love for the Cowboys and he gave me his autograph on a cocktail napkin without even asking for it.

I met him at a girls basketball tournament 6 or 7 years ago. He was very nice and very gracious. Mark Agguirre was also there and he was a coplete imbicile.

^Definitely one of the all-time MNF highlights.

He was at St. Edwards for one of the cowboy summer camps a while back. He walked around like he was God. Talked to no one and only gave one autograph when the newspaper guys came over for some pictures. I was a TD fan until that day.

Drew Pearson on the other hand was cool. Signed for everyone and went the extra mile all day long in the Texas heat. Even let me wear his super bowl ring for a couple minutes.

I think that among the true blue Cowboy fans, Drew Pearson is every bit as much the star as Tony Dorsett, if not more.

Tony breaks the all-time rushing record: The Link

1977 Sugar Bowl run: The Link

I remember going to Texas Stadium and watching Tony. Every time, I mean EVERY F'ING TIME he made it past the line of scrimmage running full speed, the ENTIRE STADIUM JUMPED UP to see if would GO-ALL-THE-WAY!!!!!!!!!!!

I've met TD a few times and he's always been polite and personable.

And since he was brought up, I waited on Mark Aguire and his family back in the early 90s while I was interviewing and waiting tables. They were there w/ two or three other couples and were very pleasant to wait on and they tipped me about 50% of the check.

His daughter goes to Trinity Christian Academy in Dallas with our kids. He is a genuinely nice guy. Always donates his time to the auction, etc. I'm 48 so have been watching him all his career. He looks like he could strap on the pads and go right now. Now his son Anthony looks like a thug gangsta. Gold everything top to bottom. Won't say boo to nobody.

Happy Birthday Tony D. Great memories of you running with the rock. I remember seeing you frequently at clubs around North Dallas in the '78-82 days... Elan, Pappagyo's, etc. The lady's always figured out who you were right away.
