Sure would be nice to get some corners. If either of the Brown's has a breakout year (which would be nice), we would need some young guys to be on the field with Williams.
QB - It didn't dawn on me until I looked at that chart, but if either Colt went pro or Chiles transferred, we would have been very thin at QB.
PK - only 2 on the list and both are seniors. Does that mean in 2010 we will be using a true freshman/transfer or do any of our younger punters also kick?
Hey guys. Just FYI, we've had a similar chart up on-line for a long time now, our has a bit more info than the Statesman's (and it doesn't require a PDF download), it's dynamic (updated when there are new commitments) and linked to player bio pages. If you're interested, here's the link:
Payne and Webber are both Juniors? I don't think I can remember seeing either of them doing anythign yet.
Behind Tanner and Huey, the OG positions looks a little thin. I am thinking some of those guys recruiting as OTs will play OG but didn't know which ones. I'd like to see Walters and Allen get a shot there.
They were, but they've decided to stick it out at least through spring. But as I pointed out above, the attrition number between now and August will be at least two to get Texas at or under the 85 limit, and they remain two of the most likely transfer candidates.
Man Webber looked like a stud coming out of HS too. Payne looked like a guy who would compete for a spot at either safety or WR, especially with his size. But like I said Juniors, haven't done anything yet on the field, and young guys behind them (Williams, Kirkendoll, Collins, Buckner) all look like they are going to be playing ahead of anybody else right now (except of course Shipley).
