Half Time!

I only caught part of the first half, but it's looking good! What do you think Barnes was saying there to abrams at the half? Any other input on the game is welcome.

The D looks really good. It's a battle every possession. If we have this kind of effort every game, we'll have a chance to win almost every one of 'em.

On the downside, we are way too careless with the ball in transition. I think we have 10 turnovers, with about 5 in transition. (I haven't checked the box score, I may be off by a couple). Sloppy passing and being a bit too much in a hurry is a recurring problem.

AJ is shooting great. Whither Damion James? Maybe he'll bring it in the 2nd half after getting whacked in the head. Passing is better overall in this game.

Defense stepped up after starting out a little disoriented. Leaving Collison and Keefe open is similar to leaving AJ and Atchley open. On offense, too many turnovers on careless low percentage passes.

and wtf is wrong with Atchley? The dude is lost on defense and has no offense except an occasional catch and shoot 3 pointer. Maybe that's why they keep saying Barnes considers Chapman our most talented big man. If that's true, then God help us.

I hate to be Mr. Obvious, but Atchley has to really miss Augustine. I know, I know, the whole team misses D.J., but Atchley seemed to benfit the most from his penetration and dish.

Just goes to show you what level we have come to expect this team to play at. Barnes has done such a tremendous job at Texas, we expect such great things year in and year out. This is definitely an interesting team. I look forward to seeing how they progress over the year.

Wow, refs gave UCLA about 3 extra possessions in the last minute.

Phantom foul on Atchley when the UCLA guy falls down. Called a tie up instead of a foul on the Texas rebound.

We were lucky to hang on to that lead. UCLA had the ball for seemingly the last 2 minutes of the game...while they were only down 3.
