Hair replacement

Anyone done it?

I'm 31 and thinning. I would be classified as a class 2. I could throw 8,000 at my head and have great hair for life. Or not.

I'm thinking of doing it through Bosley in Houston. Any other folks that ya'll may have gone to and liked?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Don't do that. If its really bad, cut it real short or even shave it.

And have you seen the photos of the guys who had the replacement but had problems a few years down the road? At first, its completely successful. Then even with Propecia or Rogaine, their original hair recedes from the transplanted hair. then they look like a freak. Then they have to keep going back for more treatments or start to shave their head. That may not happen to everyone but why take that risk.

If you want to try the drug route, go for it. I think the surgery aspect has too many potential bad results.

Or better yet, get past losing your hair.

also, go to teh internets and order 3 bottles of hair raiser by Billy Jealousy. I use it twice per day.

I have new hair growth. I have all these tiny, short hairs that were not there before. 4 months in and still new hairs are coming in.

I jsut gave it whirl without expecting much. then, the hair came.

I'm going to add propecia to the regimen, now that i know the topical i am using works on its own. didn't want to get results from the combo, with one of them possibly not doing anything.

also, **** bosley. if you order their dvd, they will call you ALL THE TIME to schedule your consult. i may wait on the new procedure in the post above.

I thought very carefully about doing this. I even had an appointment set up for last December for a guy in Seattle who is highly regarded. In the end, however, I determined that just shaving it off and accepting that I am bald was a better financial decision for me.

BTW, it would have cost me over 20K to get my head done so I am farther along than you. In your case, it might be worth your while, but MAKE SURE you do NOT go to Bosley.

PM if you want more details on my experience. I have a few doctors who, through my research, seemed like a good investment.

I used to love my hair. As it began retreating I panicked but vowed to never be a "comb-over" type of guy. So, I shaved it off. ~10yrs later and I'm so happy with a shaved head that I wouldn't grow it back even if I could. The benefits of having a shaved head vastly outweigh the downside.

As a woman, I will tell you that men make much more out of going bald than women do. Thinning hair on a man, and even baldness, never has bothered me, nor most of the women I know.

I have a full thick hair and think hair is overrated. I would buzz mine with a #3 if it were socially acceptable in my profession. I would just assume not to have to buy hair care products and have to keep it combed, but then again that's just me.
