I am interested in knowing what effect hail damage has on the value of a car. The car in question is a 1997 Pontiac Sunfire. Kelley Blue Book has the value at $1,800, but after this mornings hail storm the car has probably 100+ dings on the hood, top, and trunk.
There is a decent possibility that your damage will exceed the value of the vehicle, & in that case you are now "totalled" & will have a hard time replacing the vehicle with a replacement @ that price.
First stop is to a 'ding out the spots' type shop, but stick to LOCAL (i.e. in your area & established for some time) body shops to get an idea or estimate.
BTW, what town are you in? ...Your profile is empty in that area. If your car got whacked to the point of impact, your roof did too & that's what I'm interested in - the roof damages people might have had.
Back to the car: You'll start to see tents pop up all over town for "hail repair" & you should possibly be skeptical. I have zero info on whether they are legit or not, but would probably reccomend someone with local ref's.
