Gun Safe.

I need to get a safe for a handgun. I am about to embark on the search. From your experiences, what am I looking for, how much and where? I assume I am going to put it on a wall or something and in one of the rooms with a motion sensor for my alarm system in the house.

If its a handgun I assume its for home defense (even though handguns arent very good for this use) you should get a quick access safe such as this.

It will be by my bedside at night. I need somewhere to put it when I leave the house. I agree that in the wrong hands or with somebody not knowing what they are doing a handgun is not the best for just home security. But I have one, soon to be two and need a safe spot so that somebody cannot just take it.

I don't have any kids so that is not a concern. I would also keep it away if ever a nephew or niece comes around. But no way would I have one in a safe and expect it to be a security device.
