May have to go to that area in a few months and was hoping someone had some info about it. How are the restaurants, beaches, etc.? How has the area recovered from Katrina? Thanks for the help.

Have some family there. Visited over the 4th of July this past year.

Looked like an atomic bomb hit the coast. No BS.

New Orleans got most of the coverage but this placed got nailed.

A lot of the casinos are back open and do a good job, but it is somewhat depressing still. I would probably stay at the Grand Casino on the beach.

is beau rivage back up and running? i was there once before the bomb hit and it was pretty nice

I was there about 5 years ago on business for about 3 months. I stayed at the Beau Rivage, Isle of Capris and a couple other of the casinos. I thought they were all pretty nice for not being in Vegas. I don't remember many really nice restaurants there, but I normally just ate in the hotel.

Beau Rivage is back and is supposed to be better than before--upgrades, poker room, etc. I have not been there to confirm first hand,however.

What Tailgate said. I was there last April and basically the only thing open were the casinos. The rest of it still looked like Beirut.
