Also where's the best place to buy those floating coolers in New braunfels?

We got a bad *** river house for the weekend so no camping essentials

Tractor tube.
Scantily clad women escorts
Shiner Bock & ice
Auto tube for holding ice chest
Rope to secure ice chest to tube

Fried Chicken and some very high quality zip lock bags or tupperware.

A neck strap for your sunglasses.

something cheesy to throw like an old rubber football.

velcro pocket on/in your swim trunks.

FYI...We went to Rockin R last weekend and went downstream in to the city of New Braunfels. A nice park ranger informed me my cooler was too big. Luckily a employee at rockin r employee loaned me a smaller cooler. Evidently the city passed a law that no cooler could be over 17 quarts. At some point we floated by the police who were checking people's coolers and ages. By checking ages they were asking questions. Of course it looked like the were only stopping groups of girls. go figure

If you bring glass bottles, I hope you cut your foot on someone else's.

And I say that hoping that you don't cut your foot.

I'm pretty sure he meant he is bringing those bottles for the river house, not to actually float the river.

Man, the cooler law is a *****, I was hoping that **** would be overturned by now.

Is there a portion of the Guad or the Comal where these stupid cooler rules don't apply? (We're going next weekend and I'd rather not deal with this ********.)

I agree with you that the law is an inconvenience but they are not stupid. They are there for good reason due to a few people ******* things up. Be pissed at those jackoff's since they are responsible for things being the way they are. I am sure the cops would rather chat up hot chicks than worry about coolers.

The cooler rule is asinine and counter-productive. By limiting the size of the cooler, more people are drinking liquor on the river, which makes them more drunk.

I don't know if the cooler law is actually enforced. We got a written "warning" for our coolers and then just had to show that to cops several more times.

I would think or hope it is one of those things that if you are not starting trouble or drawing suspicion to yourself (to include not mouthing off to cops or being a jerk to them) they won't do more than a warning. But sadly, again, actions of a few affect the others.

The next step, and one they don't want to take either is to tell people no alcohol at all on the river, while on the river. That would not be cool at all but it depends on how people want to handle what they have now and then maybe get larger coolers back one day and things go back how they were if the message was received loud and clear. But some jackasses will ruin it, they always do.

The cooler law only applies to the City of New Braunfels. Head 15 minutes further west to Canyon Lake and float the Guadalupe there.

if you put in at Whitewater or the Shanty or any of those places on the horseshoe by sattler, then you will not be under the cooler ordinance...
