Groomsmen Gifts: Poker Chip Sets

Getting married in a few weeks and I still need to get my groomsmen gifts. I was thinking about getting them each a poker chip set with cards. However, I have absolutely no clue which kinds of sets to give them. I don't want to spend a whole lot of money, but I want to get them something quality. I have 5 groomsman and 4 ushers, so this is going to be expensive. Can anybody recommend a good set? Thank you all in advance.

Get only chips that are at least 11.5 grams each. Others will feel cheap.

Go here to buy them.

It will be kind of expensive, but not smothering. You can get each of them 500 chips for around $34.

That $34 set looks to be what I am looking for. However, when I entered in that I wanted 10 sets (I wanted one for myself), the shipping came out to $104. Does that seem reasonable? Could I find the same set somewhere in Austin and save on the shipping? Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I think I may end up getting the chips from the site you suggested unless I can find something local.

Does anybody have an opinion about either of these sets? They appear to be the same, but I could be off. Although the sets are the same in price, the website for set one is offering a 20% promo code while the website for set 2 is only offering a 5% promo code.

The weight of a good set of chips with 500 chips is pretty heavy. $104 for shipping doesn't sound unreasonable. But if you can find the same thing in Texas, where you would pay tax vs. shipping, then maybe that would be best.

poker chip sets are heavy. I looked here:

They have a few sets for 36-52 dollar range, and flat rate shipping.

Might try ordering the one for yourself first to make sure it's what you really want. Overstock ships pretty fast too.

What stores would carry chip sets without ordering them online? I haven't looked at them in years but we have a big game going on this weekend and I need to pick up a set. Not in Austin so I just need to know what kind of stores carry them.

My buddy runs this company--he's made some for me--he can personalize them with any image you want. PM me if you want to use him, I'm sure I could get you a deal.

Chips are HEAVY. I bough 2000 chips for a tournament I had for my 30th birthday. S&H was 31.70...it is just a cost you've got to incur.

I got mine from chipsandgames.com. I've been happy with them. If I recall the shipping was pretty quick.

2000 chips and two cases for $164 shipped.

Best groomsman gift I ever got was the groom paid about $50 for everyone's tux rentals ... much better than alot of the things they give that most of us will never use

Sometimes you can find good deals on stuff like poker chips at Sam's or Costco. We have a really nice set that the hubby's rents bought him from Sam's.
