Griffey Jr. signs with Braves

Ken Griffey Jr. signed with the Atlanta Braves today. Deal is believed to be around $1.5- 2 million annually with incentives. This is being reported by the Atlanta Journal Constitution. I'm glad he stays in the National League so I can still see him come to Houston once a year.

Glad to see Junior get a job, but I really wanted to see him go to the AL as a DH. His old body can't stand up to the rigors of playing in the outfield for nine innings a day. What he really needs is a slot as a DH in the AL, where the team plays in a park that is friendly to LH power hitters - like, for instance, The Ballpark in Arlington.

Good for Junior and the Ms! Going to Seattle on our annual baseball trip in June and am delighted that he will be there.
