Greiner, no Olympics?

I thought one time I saw a thread that said she was not playing in the Olympics for a specific reason. Why is she not playing on the Olympic team?

I don't know why Greiner isn't participating but Brittney Griner isn't playing due to a family illness combined with her Summer School schedule. It's not a big surprise though as no collegiate player has been on an Olympic roster since 1988. Still, she's a great player (and by all accounts just as great of a person) so I'm sorry we're going to miss her this time around.

Umm, Christian Laetner in 1992, we still considered a collegian. Maybe you were talking about the women's team. I would think the Women's team would have put her on there for the publicity etc. Poor Marketing in my opinion is she was invited to tryout.

I bet the Olympic committee wishes they had included her when they made the initial announcement. Had they included her then she would probably be playing.
