Green named Co-Big 12 Pitcher of the Week

AUSTIN, Texas – Texas Longhorns right-hander Cole Green was tabbed Phillips 66 Big 12 Co-Pitcher of the Week the conference announced on Monday evening.

The Coppell, Texas native shared the award with Cameron Selik from Kansas.

Green went 2-0 on the week, including pitching a perfect 5.0 innings out of the bullpen in a win against No. 18 Stanford in the series finale on Sunday. He entered the game with Texas leading 3-2 in the top of the fifth and retired all 15 batters he faced, including six on strikeouts.

Last Wednesday, Green earned a win over Dallas Baptist, working 5.0 innings in a start against the Patriots. He allowed two runs on five hits and two walks while striking out five. For the week, Green pitched 10.0 innings and allowed just two earned runs on five hits and two walks while striking out 11.

It marked Green’s first career Big 12 Pitcher of the Week honor.
