Green-Beckham

Missouri High School talent =

DGB looks unreal. If he can polish up his route running/blocking, his potential is off the charts.

If we could pull him in, we would have 3 of the Top 5 receivers in the nation according to ESPN rankings.

Green-Beckham's official visit to UT will be the weekend of the Kansas State game. Hope he likes Austin, the school, the game, the facilities, Bevo, chaps...

quoted as saying his top two are ou and arky, others possible, including texas. he "may" make some visits to others...

I think he's a sure-fire top 10 draft pick if he goes to Ark. SEC competition week-in and week-out shoots up the stock of guys.

He is coming when we play Kansas State? We have not faired to good against those guys. Hope he doesn't leave this year unimpressed. But if we can land this guy, words can't describe what a pick up that would be.

The fact that's he's coming late in the year when we've only established a run game (AND we're playing a running team) says a lot about the seriousness of his visit.

It could be one of those goodwill visits, like "I'll be the savior of your receiving corps," but I'm not thrilled about our chances.

I played against Pinkney in the FIJI 3 on 3 dunk hoops tourney back in '94. Say what you want about his football career, but the guy was a MOTHER on a 9 foot basket.

If they are stronger, it isn't by much this year.

Playing for Arkansas because they play SEC competition would be stupid. So if it's for that reason alone, DGB will not play for Arkansas, since DGB isn't stupid.

So please stop.

SEC isn't that much stronger than other conferences if you take out LSU and Bama. Florida is not having a good year. These things go in cycles. It is LSU and Bama that makes them stick out like UT and Arkansas in 1969 in the old SWC.

According to non-conference won/loss records, the Big12 is definintely the tougher league this season. Check it out.

Has Arkansas ever even won the west division of the SEC? They've had some very good offenses but mediocre defense which doesn't cut it in the SEC (as atm will soon figure out).

If you were going SEC why not go to a school that has a better chance to go all the way? If your answer as an elite receiver recruit is "because they don't have very good offenses that pass a lot" then why go to the SEC at all?

they may still win it this yr. I don't think oregon or WV believe LSUs defense is unbeatable. Ark is the only offense in the sec capable of testing a really good defense (as LSU is). If they limit turnovers they will have a shot. LSU will not hold them without a TD

DGB should be in town this weekend for the KSU game. Here's to hoping we can complete more than 5 passes. Jesus's Asset is also reporting that the staiff is quietly confident that we are the leaders in the clubhouse right now. Long way to go, but I'll take whatever sunshine they are pumping.

Kiel's looking around again thanks to Indiana's performance this year. Consensus is that Notre Dame may be the chief beneficiary before all's said & done.

spank my arse and call me charlie, but if i am dgb, wouldn't i want to go to a program that has a qb capable of throwing the football?

Our WR's looked aweful last night. Shipley was the only one that would catch passes thrown to him. Our OL finally did somewhat good so our QB would have time to deliver and Goodwin and Mike Davis did not show up. Goodwin almost handed them an easy TD when he bobbled an easy pass and Mike Davis dropped passes. It's amazing to me when the ball is in the air Davis is not aggressive at all going after it.

That being said we need Beckham in the worst way. C Jones is wrapped up and Shipley is here, but this guy has it all. I know it's a long shot but I can wish.
