according to 247 and orangebloods, dorial and his mom and pop are due sometime later today.

sooners everywhere are shouting that it is to no avail.

"already here"

that's great news, but i don't find it on that site.  where did you see it?  original piece on the visit says perhaps early afternoon.  all i see right off on that.

I hope he likes triple digit temperatures.

So what are his academic interests, is he a good student?
This is a big recruit, hope he has a good visit, and likes the Horns.

No worries Tex... I can see perfectly! It is what it is... Regardless of links that will take you to other sites or multiple posters/users/members, when they start calling it as "BarkingCosm" thing, I'll agree you! It's pretty simple... it's two blogs that don't cover the same thing. Don't be anal and get your panties in a wad, brother....

"it doesn't matter how many BCS bowls you go to, if it's not a good academic fit for him then it's not a good fit." __________________________________________________ Does this mean he is a very poor student and he needs a school that specializes in academic miracles? If so, then let him go....

this isn't likely a fallout from the visit, but it is very interesting.

billfromlaketravis, over on the recruitocosm thread, linked a 247 podcast where some 247 ag-types and gerry hamilton and jeff howe from the longhorn 247 site discuss 2012 and 2013 recruiting, both aggie prospects and ours.

in particular, they make some very interesting observations about dg-b, and a poster on recruitocosm who is familiar with 247 and gerry hamilton had this to say:
In reply to:

incidentally, the recruitocosm poster doesn't say he HEARD gerry say it might come down to a texas/ou slugfest, but that he (the poster) THINKS gerry is allowing for that possibility, and i think that is reasonable.  in the podcast gerry does suggest that others who, i assume he respects, are saying it might fall out that way.

regardless, i am comfortable that we are in this thing BIG TIME.  that's what i wanted most to know.

like you guys, of course, i still am anxious to hear how the visit went, though.

couple of places are reporting that jeff howe of 247 tweeted that 'earlier this evening' gerry hamilton of 247 reported that dorial is enjoying his visit to texas.

hey, they were supposed to go back saturday some time.  if they are still here that's a very good thing.

I agree that is a positive. But usually we hear a little more than what's been said so fars. Either they are keeping a very good lid on how he feels and does love our great school and city (who could blame him) or he's just having some fun and is already committed to the evil toothless trailerhouse gang up north.

If Texas is still "trailing", then I think the visit was a nod toward Coach Wyatt and that's that. If so, still a great job to get DGB in for a visit.

xover, my impression is that the visit was essentially a friendly gesture from the beckhams toward a good friend.  (coach beckham and darrell wyatt go back a ways.)

the visit went well, and it is possible that a seed of doubt was developed.  whether that germinates, we'll have to see.

longtex, i don't think there was ever a question whether the offer would be there, unless the visit happened to go badly.  that has happened a few times, but, given that this was an amicable get-together, i'm sure nobody doubts the interest to have dorial on campus or the expression of that interest.

True Orange mentioned that DG-B visited Texas last weekend, but it was a short visit and will be an uphill battle to land him...
