I'd say Paul McCartney.

I've seen Bob Dylan play in front of ~8,000 people in the old Starplex (no idea what the current name is) in Fairpark back in the early '90s. I could only understand/identify 2 1/2 songs.

Madonna and Elton John and maybe still Mick Jagger probably put on the best show, although I was extremely underwhelmed when I saw Madonna, but others closer to the stage claimed that the show was a "10".

But I think that basically as far as contribution to music, it's Paul & Bob and then everyone else is fighting for their place in the pecking order. And that includes the Stones, Zeppelin...
