I've seen catches like that in person. Thats nowhere near the greatest catch I have ever seen. Prothro's catch was the most amazing I think I have ever seen.

As someone who had a distinguished intramural receiving career on the 40 Acres, I can say that that is NOT the greatest catch ever.

As someone who has never played contact football, I am more impressed by catches in traffic and/or when the receiver lays out AND gets nailed.

It's hard to tell with that low quality of video but at about 0:42 it sure looks like Prothro's right hand is grabbing the defender's jersey to pull him out of the way.

Prothro's catch maybe was the most freaky, the most odd, the most twilight-zone-like -- but is nowhere near the greatest catch. C'mon, the ball accidentally got stuck between the defender's body and Prothro's hands -- same as if it got stuck in his facemask!
