We won two road games this past weekend beating Kansas 1 - 0 and today on ESPNU we beat Missouri 2 - 1 in a battle fo 2 ranked teams. It was a great game and we were behind 1 - 0 but within about six minutes of each other in the last 14 minutes we scored 2 goals to win it. It was a well played defensive type game by both teams. We probably should have been tied in the last 15 minutes but the refs missed a hand ball that would have given us a penalty kick with a good chance to score but oh well.

By the way, the team is a total class act. To a girl, each one was extremely friendly and kind to my daughter when she met them after the Kentucky game 2 months ago.

I know it is Halloween, but let's try to get a good crowd out to see the Soccer team play this Friday. It may be the last home game for a special group of Seniors (Logterman, Moore, Pfenenniger, Gilbeau and Gaines) that have raised UT Soccer to a new level !! Beat those Baylor Bears !!

There really is a good chance that this will be the last home game (meaning no NCAA games in Austin).

The NCAA committee is loath to have more than one host site in the same geographic area, since multiple nearby sites would mean that more teams would have to travel, and minimizing that is pretty much their #1 priority in setting up the tournament. (Higher priority than a balanced seeding, unfortunately.)

A&M is likely to be a host, which would probably mean we are out.

BTW - If we beat Baylor, the first Big 12 tournament game will (almost certainly) be at 11:30 am on Wednesday at Blossom field in San Antonio. (As either the 4 or 5 seed).

Not an impressive performance by the soccer team. The game program mentioned the Halloween costumes the players were planning, maybe they were thinking of the party instead of the game. Baylor played a very defensive game, they may have had no shots on goal all game, but their defensive strategy worked enough for a 0-0 draw (2 OT), and now Texas is the 6 seed playing 3 Missouri at 1:30 on Wed. If we win, it is probably A&M on Friday at 7:30 pm.
