Every year I meet my Dad in Las Vegas for Superbowl weekend. Saturday night I was at MESA Grill and overheard the two guys next to me talking about Texas football. One asks the other "Do you think Colt will continue to be the starting QB?" I decide to inject myself into their conversation and say "I think Colt will be the starter until he graduates." The guy to my left asks if I went to Texas. When I said I did he said "So did he" pointing across the table. "In fact, he played for Texas." My first thought is "Way to go, Matthew." "Really? Wow." I reach out my hand and say "I'm Matthew Speed." He says "Jay Humphrey. Nice to meet you."
The four of us ended up having a good conversation for the next hour and a half, including unfortunately, some inside dirt on things that happened in the past. (No' I'm not talking about them but it was nice to get some info from someone who actually knows.) He's a super nice guy who is now a chiropractor in Dallas. I am not in Dallas much but if I am and need a chiropractor I'll definitely give him a call.
