Gray #2

JG moved up to the #2 spot on ESPN's college "big board" behind only Edwards. He has consistently moved up the rankings since the 2012 class first came out, so it is nice that he is being recognized for his hard work and production. Good for him.

Interestingly enough, DGB sits right behind Gray. Can you imagine if we somehow get Edwards and DGB? 1, 2 & 3. Wow!! A boy can dream.

With that said, Texas was jumped by FSU and is now sitting at the #3 spot overall. Still an impressive showing by Brown and Co.

I think his smooth running style makes him a bit underrated from afar. But you could tell from the UA practice shows and game that ESPN was far more impressed with Gray as a pure athlete than they ever expected. Elite quickness. Elite speed for a running back that will probably add 20-30 lbs over his college career. Elite feet. Elite hands for a running back. Elite body frame. All of that was mentioned in praise during that week. I think the only thing that surprised them as much that week was that Edwards was still DE quick at his size.

I had to bite my tongue over Christmas when my Georgia alum friend kept talking about how they had signed the #1 running back recruit this year.

Also, I've always wondered why absolute elite recruits rarely sign in bulk with the same team. I know we talk about Redding and Sims way back when. But, if I were DGB and ME, I'd certainly be more than open to signing with Texas and making runs at multiple national championships.
