Got Raw Milk?

I guess to justify this thread residing in Quack's, there was a recent article in Harper's extolling the health virtues of raw milk, and the government "conspiracy" to outlaw it (so to speak).

It was a very good article. harpers.org/search.php?q=raw+milk

The bacteria within raw milk is beneficial to humans, and the dangers of raw milk have a lot to do with mass commercial dairy farming and using high-energy grains to feed the cows.

Along the same line (organisms being beneficial to humans) it seems that worms have kept Crohn's disease at bay.

That New York Times article is fascinating, Perham. Thanks for posting it.

It's really amazing how the human body can adapt and DOES adapt over time to protect itself from environmental pathogens.

Perham, you might try the Farmer Market over on Airline, south of the north loop. I know they sell local eggs and I believe they sell raw milk, although I not' 100 percent certain. At any rate, its worth the trip if you've never been there.

You might investigate Bob Stryk Farms @ texascheese.com. They sell raw milk. The operation is based out of Shulenburg but they deliver milk to Austin every other week. They deliver whole and skim (along with cream, buttermilk, and some assorted cheese products) from Jersey cows which are apparently different than the Holstein cows that your HEB milk comes from.

Since Bob delivers milk to Austin, my guess is that he does the same in Houston. You might email and ask.
