Really no idea but when I looked at some UT targets and commitments to other schools this morning, I saw that Drew Richmond had decommitted from Ole Miss. He is a 4/5 star OL that was on the Texas radar at some point. When I saw that, my first thought was he might be a surprise flip. Then I saw that he was from Memphis and he might be headed to the other lesser UT (Tenn). He is a stud and would be quite a bonus.
My other thought was that maybe D Mack was back in play. Just wishful thinking.
Probably PJ Locke. It could be Baker too, but the word "unexpected" may mean Locke, as his name became "expected" only in the last 3-4 hours.
There is really nothing new on Newsome for them to announce anything. Newsome is not going to decide till late tonight. He will tell the coaches at Texas and UCLA, but even the coaches won't believe him till they get his LOI signed and faxed (knowing what he did last time when he committed)... Heck, he may again be crying and throwing a coin up before signing an LOI. He himself doesn't know what he will do, for OB to say anything!
I say it's Newsome now that Locksley is confirmed and Texas has a talented young QB. It's one of Mack, Jamoba, or Newsome I bet, but it will be a big name said to be leaning strongly away. Been saying all day there will be a surprise tomorrow from a big name. These services don't have it all figured out the way they now sell it so strongly on NSD eve. They've been no better at this than almost anyone with an internet connection could've been.
One note on Ryan Newsome; newest UT QB pledge Kai Locksley and Ryan have become friends even before the QB's flip last night. Newsome says they talk often.
Don't be surprised if Ryan flips to the good guys on NSD. I might be surprised if he didn't.
And one final note on Kris Boyd; Eric's report yesterday was spot on, Boyd was torn. Apparently during his visit to Austin last weekend, Josh Walker and a host of A&M players blew up his phone with calls and texts.
Walker has pushed Kris so much on the issue, I don't think real friends do that to each other. To the point DeMarco made a few comments to Walker on IG last night.
Kris had a family talk late last night and followed it with post confirming he would indeed stick with Texas. Kris is a loyal dude and ultimately he couldn't leave his little brother.
I tried to assure you guys when it would be appropriate to worry about Boyd. A few of you loyal soldiers believed me.
