A VHT pitbull classic. 100 Watts of pissed off tube anger. My drummer has drowned me out for the last time. Oh, and I get a pretty stellar deal from Austin Vintage Guitar

Good for you. Pitbulls are naaaasty sounding.

You still should get the ******* ****** though.

I don't know anything about those -- what's the general idea? (Fender/Marshall/Mesa/Vox etc.).

100 watts on a stage. Jesus.

versatile hi gain tube amp. not really like anything else. It comes with el34 tubes but can switch to 6l6. Its really everything a Mesa Rectifier wants to be. Great for hi gain. Great chug but with more depth than the Rectifier.

JJ - YOU try playing a show with a drummer who insists on using 5 crashes at every show

Dave is good but he is LOUD... I'll have no issues with stage sound EVER again. This thing is loud enough for any show I will ever play.

I actually have a mid-80s studio 12 mesa boogie which I love as a recording amp. Having said that, the overdrive of the VHT is just ******* nasty. The cleans are great and nice and loud but the overdrive is pretty incredible.

Due to us having a show at Cedar Street on the 18th with 3 one hour sets we are actually having our first ever rehearsal tonight. If I hear "turn your ******* amp down" less than 3 times tonight I'll feel like a failure.

Have you guys played around with the Variax with the Vetta II? I was interested in this for myself. I don't play live, I just mainly goof off at the house and it looked like it had a lot of cool options/sounds/tuning shifts.

Hook - closest thing is Ed's Strat with a roland synth. Its slightly gay but hearing your guitarist play a horn solo is pretty cool. Not to mention he likes to do it without telling me and it confuses the **** out of me when I'm in the middle of a show and all of a sudden I hear a tuba or steel drum or whatever sound he feels like making.

Last night's practice - Cops showed up. I was so proud

My favorite part was "Why does the pizza guy have a flashlight??"

Wow, the Roland synth comment reminded me of this. A buddy of mine used to play one in a cover band. The bass player at the time was Mike McCarthy who has gone on to produce Spoon and Patty Griffin among others.
