Anyone try it? Looks like just another browser but all the cool parts are inside. Runs pretty damn fast and doesn't have a big footprint. Still it'll take alot to replace Firefox

I'm not sure, but I've heard from someone that it does not have a way to block cookies. I can see why that would benefit Google, Inc.

But I do not see how that might benefit me.

But, I haven't used it myself so I don't know for certain.

Tell your someone to click the little wrench icon to get to the browser settings, then go to the Options menu. There are cookies options there.

I haven't used it much, but it does seem pretty quick.

JavaScript interpreter looks super fast.

Now there are 4 browsers with JavaScript interpreters significantly faster than IE.

Rendering engine could use some work. The slow rendering speed causes all kinds of problems with Web sites that manipulate the DOM for animation and effects.

Very beta.

I'm liking it. It runs very fast for me. It needs the adblock extension, though. I'm sure that will be along shortly. It's open source so someone will find a way to get adblock integrated.

nice interface. I like the tabs at the top as opposed to hidden in the header of Firefox. But I don't really see too much improvement over Firefox yet.

Google Chrome Download Vulnerability

Original release date: September 3, 2008 at 1:52 pm Last revised: September 3, 2008 at 1:52 pm

US-CERT is aware of a vulnerability that affects the Google Chrome web browser. This vulnerability is due to a default configuration that allows files to be downloaded without prompting the user. In addition, downloaded files can be opened with a single click, which could allow a user to inadvertently open a malicious file.

US-CERT encourages users to enable the "Ask where to save each file before downloading" option within the "Minor Tweaks" tab in the browser preferences. Although this does not fix the underlying vulnerability, selecting this option will warn the user before files are downloaded. Users should still exercise caution when visiting and downloading items from untrusted websites.

US-CERT will provide additional information as it becomes available.

Good for google fixing that egregious error in legalese. It's still hard for me to imagine that whole entire paragraph snuck in by accident. I'll still stick to firefox though.
