Check the one in Montrose on the Westheimer curve between Commonwealth and Yupon-- in the Cherryhurst center a block or two west of Waugh on hte north side of Westheimer. There are two in that area that are allegedly very good.

Shaws is generally known as the best, but I don't speak from experience.

I'd put more stock in a particular artist than a specific shop.

I live within walking distance of most of the shops listed above, but I got my one and only tatoo from Notorious Ed at Capital City Tatoo on Sixth Street. He's the only guy I know by name.

along the theme of the artist is what counts.... Dago is supposed to be top notch... of course the shop is ******* creepy looking... you feel like you're getting your tat in jail and Dago looks like he's spent some time there....

Sacred Heart Studio is where I got my Longhorn tattoo. It was recommended by the servers & staff at Two Rows Brewing Co. as well as the Houston Press.
