I am currently planning some trips with my girlfriend and I am looking for good sites that I can put in a city, my price range, and what sort of amenities im looking for and it can shoot me out some good info.

Currently I just use google and I get a lot of crap that isn't relavant to my search.

Thanks

Hotels.com

You can search by one or all of the following:

1) Choosing a landmark (e.g., Union Square for San Francisco, Central Park for New York, etc.)
2) Hotel type (resort, b&b, etc)
3) Amenities list
4) Price range, up to $500
5) Star rating
6) Guest rating

I haven't used it in a while, but try Travelaxe. You can get it from travelaxe.com. It's a downloadable utility that checks all the major travel Web sites (expedia, hotels.com, etc.) as well as the hotels' Web sites. I've had good luck with it in the past. It will help you find the best deals in a short amount of time, because the offers from various sites can vary widely.

I love Hotwire.com. You pick the neighborhood and the quality and they give you the best price you will find anywhere. Stick with 4, 4.5 or 5 stars and you will be just fine.

Obviously, the deals vary depending upon supply and damand for the days you want to stay. If there's a big convention in town, you won't find many deals. But if there are excess rooms available, the prices come WAY down.

I must have used Hotwire several dozen times over the years.
