Good restaurant in Vegas?

First off, my brother (known around here as RiceHorn04) is getting married this Cinco de Mayo. To commemorate his impending doom, we are spending this weekend (yes, March Madness opening round) in Vegas.

We are staying at Caesar's. I was hoping someone might have a good idea for a restaurant within walking distance that is classy, but not obscenely expensive. Totally flexible on cuisine (steak, Italian, American, whatever). RiceHorn04 is not a big fan of seafood last time I checked, so that would probably not be an option.

thanks in advance for any suggestions.

well, 'walking distance' will have to be something at caesar's itself, because it takes every bit of 45 minutes to walk off the property.

i don't spend much time there, but i know there are a few decent places in the hotel, and several more in the forum shops.

i would call the hotel, and ask about a few, then make reservations asap at one. it will be crowded this weekend.

Nero's and Mesa Grill are good.

There are also several high end restaurants in the Forum shops.

There's a Palm there as well.

Be sure and hit the Stage Deli (Forum Shops as well) at least once for breakfast/lunch/whatever.

Both on Caesar's property:

Nero's will disappoint you.

Mesa Grill is one of the best meals I have ever had. Great atmosphere too. I highly recommend it.

Don't know if it's too late, but I wanted to chime in and suggest not going to Neros. I haven't tried Mesa Grill, but I've heard it's good.

As for the "walking distance" comment, screw staying just in CP. You're in Vegas, don't limit yourself.

If you are willing to get down to the MGM, Craftsteak is very good and has a more modern feel than many of the steakhouses in town..
